Obama's State Dept. declares Texas a foreign country

I guess I really went and did it now. I hope it wasn't because of me and my blog that President Obama has declared my state of Texas to no longer be a part of the United States of America.

No Need to Secede, Texas Already a Country (Burnt Orange Report)
State Dept. Listed Texas as Foreign Country (NBC New York)
State Department Lists Texas as a Foreign Country (Politicususa)

UPDATE: My very first mention by the greatest political/news/opinion blog in cyberspace, HOT AIR.

Stormin, Bush is from Texas. Dems actually do consider it a foreign country.

Well, looks like Texas isn't a country anymore.
It also looks like some of the mileage has changed.

It's pretty amusing, but too bad it isn't real. I checked out the news sites that talk about it, and their 'evidence' is pretty useless. politicalusa's link to the google cached webpage just shows that Texas was never on the list, and the NBC site links to a 'screengrab' that is just a list someone typed out.

Was this meant to be a joke?

Anonymous, that's the problem for us all, isn't it?

If, when the administration makes a mistake, they correct it and acknowledge that a mistake was made, that's transparency.

If, however, they correct the mistake, don't acknowledge that a mistake was made and do their level best to erase all evidence that a mistake was made, that's something else.

One is an honest mistake, the other throws people into a place where they can no longer trust any source of news. It's divisive and dangerous.

This is a little stupid mistake. What happens when it's something important?

The Texas listing on there is bad enough. But look at the heading: "Countries visited".

Now can anyone tell me if "Europe", "Asia", or "Middle East" are countries?

Good catch Aerosmith, there is actually only 2 countries listed there, out of 6 entries. These idiots laughed at Sarah Palin for slipping up aqnd saying Africa is a country.

Is it that Texas is another country?... Or is it that DC is the foreign country?....

I'm settin' here at the campfire listenin' to my Constitutional professor, Mark Levin. We have ABC, which I will never watch again, givin' out the names an' pictures of CIA contractors. An' now I find out that my favorite state is not a state at all but a foreign country. Jeeeez, who the hell have we been been payin' wages to? Some Mexican; some Indian; some Iranian up there in Washington. I took a "test" the other day where you have to name all 48 states in the Continental US. Wasn't hard. Did it within a quarter of the time alocated. Had that map drilled into me when I was a tyke about 60 years ago. Today, the schools are more interested in PC crap an' I ain't talkin' 'bout computers either.
It them Texans decide to secede I'm packin' my saddlebags an headed east fer the land of the free. I'll be glad to fight in the next Alamo.
