Obamateurism of the Day ... 03/25/09

Did I hear that right? Did Obama state during last nights presser that he remained silent on the AIG story for two days because he wanted to get up to speed on what it was all about and therefore wanted to make sure he sounded like he knew what he was talking about? Can you imagine the howls of laughter and ridicule Bush would have gotten from the media if he admitted that he remained silent on a subject because he had to have a couple of days of preparation in order to sound intelligent when questioned about it?

Via Hot Air:

Henry: But on AIG, why did you wait — why did you wait days to come out and express that outrage? It seems like the action is coming out of New York and the attorney general’s office. It took you days to come public with Secretary Geithner and say, “Look, we’re outraged.” Why did it take so long?

Obama: It took us a couple of days because I like to know what I’m talking about before I speak.

The thing is Bush would have not admitted he was up to speed but rather made up something like he wanted to make a decision on what course he was going to take.

I think you are going on Bush's last few years vs. his fist term. The criticism was nowhere near as bad during the first 4.

You have to admit he did not help his cause with the press or the public in the later.

I think it was buying time to get his story down. Nothing complicated here.
