The liberal mainstream media finally finds religion ... in Obama

For most of my entire adult life I always got the impression that liberals and the mainstream media hated religion and anything remotely religious. All that hysterical whining and arguments about separation of Church and State, banning prayer in schools, removing of the Ten Commandments from inside court buildings, crying foul over public displays of nativity scenes, opposition of the Christmas season, bashing of traditional Christian family values, opposing evangelicals in politics, etc., etc., etc.

But it turns out now that the liberal left and the mainstream media aren't opposed to religion at all. There just opposed to the religion of Christianity and the God of the Bible. According to Newsweek editor Evan Thomas, government should be our religion because President Obama is "god".

EVAN THOMAS: Well, we were the good guys in 1984, it felt that way. It hasn’t felt that way in recent years. So Obama’s had, really, a different task We’re seen too often as the bad guys. I'm quite sure that this revelation not only caused another thrill to run up Chris Matthews leg, but it probably caused a warm sensation to also run down it.
