Reality TV crashes White House State Dinner

Secret Service is trying to minimize the security risk to the President by saying that the couple did pass through a magnetometer screening and was never near the President, but does a magnetometer detect such things as anthrax or suicide belt?

Off the list, but somehow on the South Lawn (Washington Post)

Happy Thanksgiving

Katie Couric goes dirty dancing

She may have won me back to watching the CBS Evening News if she can do this and read the news off of the teleprompter at the same time. More pics of Katie at Gawker.

Slightly better than the Elaine Benis effort:

Obama to troops: Your just a prop to make me look good

The Ditherer-in-Chief President Obama tries to disguise his true feelings towards our brave men and women in uniform by jokingly telling them “You guys make a pretty good photo op”. That's exactly why he went to Dover with a handful of photographers to have this picture taken.

Al Gore isn't a geothermal scientist, but he plays one on TV

A man who can never claim to have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. Al Gore is slithering around NBC this week to promote their ridiculous "Green Week" of shows to propagate the myth of man-made global warming. During his appearance on the "Tonight Show w/Conan O'Brien" our environmental pied piper told this incredible and yet easily debunked lie while discussing geothermal energy:

It definitely is, and it’s a relatively new one. People think about geothermal energy — when they think about it at all — in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, ’cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot …

Wrong Al. If that were true there wouldn't be any life at all to speak of on Earth. We could probably provide heat to the moon let alone our own homes.

Here's what someone with a slightly higher IQ then Gore has to say on the matter. Via John Derbyshire:
The geothermal gradient is usually quoted as 25–50 degrees Celsius per mile of depth in normal terrain (not, e.g., in the crater of Kilauea). Two kilometers down, therefore, (that's a mile and a quarter if you're not as science-y as Al) you'll have an average gain of 30–60 degrees — exploitable for things like home heating, though not hot enough to make a nice pot of tea. The temperature at the earth's core, 4,000 miles down, is usually quoted as 5,000 degrees Celsius, though these guys claim it's much less, while some contrarian geophysicists have posted claims up to 9,000 degrees. The temperature at the surface of the Sun is around 6,000 degrees Celsius, while at the center, where nuclear fusion is going on bigtime, things get up over 10 million degrees.

I wish I could find it but Gore is making a cameo appearance on one of the NBC shows this week (I think it's 30 Rock) where he plays a custodian. One of his lines is, and I'm paraphrasing, "There's an old African proverb that I just made up ... recycle everything". Al Gore has been making up a whole lot of things.

Obama's America: 7 extra states, and 440 extra congressional districts

Just remember folks ... this President and his administration are way more intelligent than the Bush administration ever was.

Via Watchdog.org:
Just how big is the stimulus package? Well for one, it has doubled the size of the House of Representatives, according to recovery.gov, which says that funds were distributed to 440 congressional districts that do not exist.

According to data retrieved from recovery.gov, nearly $6.4 billion was used to “create or save” just under 30,000 jobs in these phantom congressional districts–almost $225,000 per job. The web site operates on an $84 million budget and is tasked with monitoring the distribution of the $787 billion stimulus package passed by Congress–which, for the record, counts 435 members–in early 2009.

The site’s monitors, however, are not too savvy about America’s political or geographic landscape. More than $2 million was given to the 99th District of North Dakota, a state which has only one congressional district. In order to qualify for 99 districts, North Dakota would have to have a population of about 60 million people, almost 24 million more people than California.

The stimulus revived 8 recently retired congressional districts. Pennsylvania’s 21st District has received just under $2 million in funds. Mississippi’s 5th District and Oklahoma’s 6th received $1 million from the legislation, respectively. All three were eliminated by the 2000 census.

Many other recipients carried the banner for congressional districts that have been defunct for decades. South Carolina’s 7th took the cake, garnering more than $27 million in stimulus funds, despite being eliminated in 1930. And Virginia’s 12th District may have been written off at the start of the Civil War, but it must carry some sentimental value in Old Dominion–it received more than $2 million, according to recovery.gov.

Oh oh ... Obama makes same Nixon mistake

Although Nixon's bow wasn't as embarrasing as Obama's. Nixon never took his eyes off of Hirohito and Hirohito appears to be bowing also.

On President Obama's Bow to the Japanese Emperor, An Academic Friend Writes That Both the Left and the Right Are Wrong (Jake Tapper, ABC News)

Video: Obama, the first bowing President

Not just the first American President to bow to royalty, but perhaps the first world leader.

Via Hot Air:

O-bow-ma

Obama sends message to world leaders ... stick it in my ass!

Will the White House trot out that lame picking something up off the floor defense again? Perhaps Obama was just showing his appreciation for all that Kobe beef.

Fort Hood victim jumps to conclusions

Obama feels that the wrong wall fell

Via Michael Ramirez:

Well said Mr. Ramirez. We all know that Obama and a portion of his administration are huge admirers of Communism and look upon the fall of the Berlin Wall as a very sad occasion.

Another Communist sympathizer to leave White House

Communist sympathizer and FOX News hater Anita Dunn to slither out of the White House at the end of the month.

Political correctness is destroying our U.S. Army

Ralph Peters of the New York Post gets it. Why not our leaders who have sworn an oath to protect us from the Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's of the world. Read what Mr. Peters wrote about this preventable tragedy:

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting, "Allahu akbar!" ("God is great!") committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.

What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Fort Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of nondenominational shoplifting.

This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it's an act of terror. Period.

When the terrorist posts anti-American hate speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as "Palestinian" in a Muslim spouse-matching program and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit -- well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an "Islamist terrorist."

But the president won't. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there's no such thing as "Islamist terrorism" in ObamaWorld.

And the Army won't. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America haters is safer than calling terrorism "terrorism."

And the media won't. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops -- despite their crocodile tears.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan planned this terrorist attack and executed it in cold blood. The resulting massacre was the first tragedy. The second was that he wasn't killed on the spot.

Hasan survived. Now the rest of us will have to foot his massive medical bills. Activist lawyers will get involved, claiming "harassment" drove him temporarily insane. There'll be no end of trial delays. At best, taxpayer dollars will fund his prison lifestyle for decades to come, since our politically correct Army leadership wouldn't dare pursue or carry out the death penalty.

Maj. Hasan will be a hero to Islamist terrorists abroad and their sympathizers here. While US Muslim organizations decry his acts publicly, Hasan will be praised privately. And he'll have the last laugh.

But Hasan isn't the sole guilty party. The US Army's unforgivable political correctness is also to blame for the casualties at Fort Hood.

Given the myriad warning signs, it's appalling that no action was taken against a man apparently known to praise suicide bombers and openly damn US policy. But no officer in his chain of command, either at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or at Fort Hood, had the guts to take meaningful action against a dysfunctional soldier and an incompetent doctor.

Had Hasan been a Lutheran or a Methodist, he would've been gone with the simoom. But officers fear charges of discrimination when faced with misconduct among protected minorities.

Now 12 soldiers and a security guard lie dead. At least 38 people were wounded, 28 of them seriously. If heads don't roll in this maggot's chain of command, the Army will have shamed itself beyond moral redemption.

There's another important issue, too. How could the Army allow an obviously incompetent and dysfunctional psychiatrist to treat our troubled soldiers returning from war? An Islamist wacko is counseled for arguing with veterans who've been assigned to his care? And he's not removed from duty? What planet does the Army live on?

For the first time since I joined the Army in 1976, I'm ashamed of its dereliction of duty. The chain of command protected a budding terrorist who was waving one red flag after another. Because it was safer for careers than doing something about him.

Get ready for the apologias. We've already heard from the terrorist's family that "he's a good American." In their world, maybe he is.

But when do we, the American public, knock off the PC nonsense?

A disgruntled Muslim soldier murdered his officers way back in 2003, in Kuwait, on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Recently? An American mullah shoots it out with the feds in Detroit. A Muslim fanatic attacks an Arkansas recruiting station. A Muslim media owner, after playing the peace card, beheads his wife. A Muslim father runs over his daughter because she's becoming too Westernized.

Muslim terrorist wannabes are busted again and again. And we're assured that "Islam's a religion of peace."

I guarantee you that the Obama administration's nonresponse to the Fort Hood attack will mock the memory of our dead.

But unfortunately our politically correct Army Chief of Staff, Gen. George Casey, is more concerned about Muslims and keeping diversity alive in the Army instead of our soldiers.

"...I’m concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that. It would be a shame — as great a tragedy as this was, it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well."
- Gen. George Casey

Muslim terrorist to be executed tonight

That is unless our Muslim terrorist sympathizing President doesn't step in and give him a stay of execution because we're all probably jumping to conclusions. Here's a recap of the Islamic jihadist crimes for which he'll be made to pay for tonight.
