April 14 ... the most tragic day in history

Offhand I can't think of another day throughout history where not just one but two tragic events have occurred. On this day in 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated while attending a play at Ford's Theater in Washington. Then 47 years later RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank while on her maiden voyage to New York killing 1,517 passengers and crew.

Joe Biden's forehead explained

Were you wondering, as I was, what that blemish on Vice President Biden's forehead was during Obama's failed stimulus anniversary speech. My ignorance is due to not knowing that much about the Catholic faith. You can read the explanation of it here.

Happy Labor Day Salute to our Armed Forces

Here's a salute to the real working men and women of our Armed Forces.

A Labor Day tribute to the troops (Hot Air)
A special Labor Day tribute to those Americans on duty from those of us off (LA Times)

As a matter of fact I want to salute every real worker in America who isn't a member of a Union. To a Union member this day is no different then any other day.

Remembering Obama's association with a Charles Manson sympathizer

On this 40th remembrance of the Charles Manson murders, I think that it is important to remember just the type of people that our current President keeps in good company with.

From Front Page Magazine:
Taking charge of the podium, dressed in a high-heeled boots and a leather mini-skirt – her signature uniform – Dorhn incited the assembled radicals to join the war against "Amerikkka" and create chaos and destruction in the "belly of the beast." Her voice rising to a fevered pitch, Dohrn raised three fingers in a "fork salute" to mass murderer Charles Manson whom she proposed as a symbol to her troops. Referring to the helpless victims of the Manson Family as the "Tate Eight" (the most famous was actress Sharon Tate) Dohrn shouted:

"Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild"

Let's not forget who this President really is and who his friends and associates really are. This President launched his political career in the living room of the very woman, Bernadine Dohrn, who uttered those words. A woman who sympathized with Charles Manson and cheered the murder of seven innocent people. Don't tell me that this kind of radical thinking isn't a part of Obama's thought process. You can't surround yourself with these type of people and not have their radicalism rub off on you and into your mind.

Mythbusters debunks the "moon hoaxers"

Since yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing I thought that I would post this segment from CNN. Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of the Discovery Channels "Mythbusters" took on and debunked a few of the conspiracy theories from the "moon hoaxer" crowd, and complete idiots, who go around claiming that the moon landing was a total fabrication put out by NASA.

Apollo 11 ... remembered

If your a huge history buff like me you may want to check this out. Forty years ago yesterday, July 16, 1969, the Apollo 11 mission blasted off on man's first attempt to land a man on the moon. This mission was accomplished successfully on July 20, 1969 when Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the moon and uttered those famous words, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

Now you can re-live that entire mission (sights and sounds)from start to finish by going to www.wechoosethemoon.org. Experience again the greatness of American ingenuity and can-do spirit.
