No, not really. As in all things there will still be a few deadenders who will refuse to believe that it is actually legitimate. But hopefully it will convince the serious people in the world to give it up, get it off the news and off my favorite radio talk shows. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about it.
Offhand I can't think of another day throughout history where not just one but two tragic events have occurred. On this day in 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated while attending a play at Ford's Theater in Washington. Then 47 years later RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sank while on her maiden voyage to New York killing 1,517 passengers and crew.
Not only did it put Biden (the man who's just a heartbeat away from the presidency) to sleep but also a couple of people sitting behind him. One is fairly obvious but can you spot the other?
With all the news reports of how poorly trained, organized, and incompetent these Libyan rebels are this video may very well have come from the rebel front lines.
“I would not have made these cuts in better circumstances,”
- Obama
That says it all folks. After nearly two years and three months in office this president (with both houses of Congress under his belt) comes out and admits that he still hasn't improved this nation one bit to where he can govern from a position of strength. He's still forced to succumb to a Republican party and accept deals that he wishes he didn't have too. A Republican party that just two short years ago was declared dead and wouldn't be a major player in politics for at least the next forty years. This president is a FAIL, FAIL, FAIL.
Obama threw all his weight behind NATO to wage this war (or whatever you want to call it)over in Libya. Now it turns out that NATO is so slow and bogged down with bureaucratic obstacles that by the time they show up to the battle the battle is over, civilians are dead, and the rebels are in full retreat.
Poor poor Eric Holder. After all this time he finally had to admit to the world that Bush was correct in establishing GITMO and holding military tribunals there for terrorists caught on the battlefield. Don't go blaming Republicans for foiling your plans to hold civilian trials in a federal court Eric. That congress that your bitching about was a Democrat congress from top to bottom.
Here's a little something for all you lefty green environmentalist wackos to chew on. Turns out that your most hated president of all time may have done more for your cause than you may want to admit or be known to the world. It is being reported that Bush lowered greenhouse gases by an astounding 21%.
Great Scott, how did I miss this? Late last month, the EPA released a draft greenhouse gas inventory, showing that net climate warming emissions from the U.S. fell by a whopping 15 percent from 2000 through 2009 [PDF].
A 15 percent decline? Wow. Just wow.
But the story gets even more dramatic. Over the same period, the U.S. population grew by about 9 percent. Combining the two trends, net per capita greenhouse-gas emissions fell by 21 percent over the decade. And most of that reduction occurred prior to 2007 -- when the economy hadn't yet slumped, and before energy prices hit the roof.
Did you hear that greenies!? During a rising population, a robust economy, and cheap gas prices. I hope it turns out that theres a correlation between that and waging two wars.
