Liberals now love "cowboy diplomacy"

Now all of a sudden liberals love sending messages to and dealing with terrorists at the end of a gun! What changed?

  1. There should be no surprise.

The sudden change is perhaps the realization that for the past 8 years, the Left wasn't anti-military or anti-force, just anti-stupid.

Left hawks have a tradition of advocating for activist entry into foreign states in the name of a variety of humanitarian causes.

There's nothing "cowboy" about the military's actions in regards to the pirates, it was completely antithetical to that. Rather is was a thoughtful and deliberative strategic decision. What most liberals have advocated for in these last disastrous years.

  2. @ Lee ... so let me understand this. 5 days of negotiating with pirates is long enough, 12 years of negogiating with dictators isn't.

  4. See Stormin, conservatism = cowboy diplomacy, liberalism = thoughtful and deliberative strategic decision

    Thanks for the clarification J.C.
