The sudden change is perhaps the realization that for the past 8 years, the Left wasn't anti-military or anti-force, just anti-stupid.
Left hawks have a tradition of advocating for activist entry into foreign states in the name of a variety of humanitarian causes.
There's nothing "cowboy" about the military's actions in regards to the pirates, it was completely antithetical to that. Rather is was a thoughtful and deliberative strategic decision. What most liberals have advocated for in these last disastrous years.
There should be no surprise.

@ Lee ... so let me understand this. 5 days of negotiating with pirates is long enough, 12 years of negogiating with dictators isn't.
